- Manages all emergency preparedness programs within the County
- Develops and implements comprehensive disaster planning
- Develops mitigation and response activities within the County
- Develops and maintains emergency plans for all types of natural, technological, and man-made disasters
- Make decisions that will effectively save lives and protect property in emergencies
- Provides leadership, planning, education, and resources to protect lives, property, and the environment
