Due to the forecast imminent threat brought on by the approach of Hurricane Irma and its potential destruction, the Sumter County Board of Commissioners in concurrence with Sumter County Emergency Agency (EMA) has made the determination it is in the Public's Best Interest to close the Sumter County Courthouse except for essential and emergency operations on Monday, September 11, 2017.
There were several court matters to be heard in Superior Court, Juvenile Court and possibly others. The Courthouse will be closed. Please contact the appropriate court if you have questions in these matters.
This and other actions are being undertaken in an effort to heighten Public Safety.
