THE SUMTER COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
IS REQUESTING BIDS FOR
THE PURCHASE OF PARCEL NUMBER 1531 233A 5 BID PACKAGE # 2020-0716
Sealed bids will be accepted by the Sumter County Board of Commissioners until 4:00 PM E.S.T. on Friday, August 7, 2020, at 500 West Lamar Street; Suite 100, Americus, Georgia 31709 for the purchase of parcel number 22 5 6 in Sumter County Georgia. Bid forms may be obtained from the Board of Commissioners’ Office at the above address or at the link below. Bid envelopes must be sealed and marked on the outside with the Parcel Number, Bid Package Number and the name of bidder. Bids will be opened and publicly read aloud at the Board of Commissioners’ Office at the above address at 4:05 p.m. E.S.T. on August 7, 2020. The title will only be conveyed by a quitclaim deed. Any potential buyers are accepting title as-is and are responsible for conducting their own due diligence regarding title to the property. A copy of the Attorney’s Title of Opinion is available upon request.
The award will be made to the highest responsible bidder by the Board of Commissioners following a review of all bids. The successful bidder must be able to close the purchase and tender payment in full within 60 days of award of the bid.
Bids shall remain valid and no bidder may withdraw his bid for 90 days after the date of bid opening.
No bid may be withdrawn or changed after it has been opened. The Board of Commissioners reserves the right to reject any and all bids, including, but not limited to, any and all non-conforming, non-responsive, or conditional bids, and to reject any and all bids that it believes in its sole judgment would not be in the best interest of Sumter County, whether because such bid is not responsive, the purchaser is unqualified, of doubtful financial ability, was previously unfaithful or delinquent in a contract with Sumter County, or fails to meet any other relevant standard or criteria. Sumter County further reserves the right to waive any technicalities, irregularities, or informalities, to seek clarification of any information contained in any or all bids, and to request additional information from any bidder. The Board of Commissioners reserves the right to cancel this Request for Bids, reject all bids, and to cancel the proposed sale at any time.
